　　We are pleased that you are interested in our school. Whether you are already in China and choosing a new school for your child, relocating from another country or moving overseas for the first time, we recognise the importance of finding the right educational setting for your family.


　　There is a link below to our Parent Handbook, which is an outline of some of our core practices that help to make our school an exciting, safe and inclusive community.

　　We offer a streamlined online application process and hope that the following notes will be useful to you as you consider applying to Nanjing International.

　　Before you start to fill out this form online we would advise you to make contact with the Admissions Department as we have waiting lists in some grade levels. There may be differences in grade placement of your child on arrival here, and this is another area where the Admissions Department can support and advise.

　　Please be aware that an application to NIS does not guarantee automatic entry into our school.

　　We can accept students throughout our school year. We encourage families to speak to the Admissions Department about start dates before the application process is started.

　　At NIS, we practice an approach to inclusion that gives priority for class places to families who will enrol all their age-appropriate children at our school. This approach supports our mission commitment to an inclusive classroom learning environment as well as our community spirit. NIS will not enrol or re-enrol students who receive tiered learning support unless their school age siblings also attend the school.

　　As a fully inclusive school it is important that you disclose in advance if your child has any learning support needs ie an Individual Education Plan or any accommodations or modifications have been made to his or her learning programme at any stage of his or her school life. Failure to disclose this information could lead to a delay in being able to offer your child a place at our school.

　　We want to be able to offer all our students the best chance of success, and in order to do that we must have this information beforehand so we can discuss it with you and follow up with our experts in our Learning Support Team.

　　In some exceptional circumstances this may not be the appropriate school for your child.

　　There is a minimum English language requirement for Grade 9 and above.

　　We suggest families to take the opportunity to visit our school wherever that is possible. Please let us know in advance if you can, so that we can ensure we are available for a tour and to assist with the application process.

　　The process is as follows:

　　1. Initial enquiry to the Admissions Department.

　　2. Fill in an online application form.

　　3. Online Diagnostic Test

　　Where necessary complete an online diagnostic test.

　　If your child is currently in Grade 3 and above, they will need to sit an online diagnostic test in Mathematics and English. This can be done either here at NIS or at your child’s school with their assistance. It takes around two hours to complete. The Admissions Department will help organise this with you.

　　IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS FOR OUR MIDDLE YEARS AND DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

　　4. School Reports

　　For students coming into the Middle Years & Diploma Programmes we need to have full school reports for their last three years of school. This is particularly important when our students leave NIS and transcripts are needed for new schools or university applications. If there are gaps in the student history we may not be able to complete the transcripts.

　　For all other students we need full school reports for the last two years with a translation into English where appropriate.

　　Please either upload all the reports onto the application, scan or send them through to us at the Admissions Office. If you have questions about this send them to : admissions@nanjing-school.com

　　5. Living Arrangements for Students

　　For students joining us in the MYP and Diploma Programmes we insist that they are living with their parents or a named guardian throughout their time here at NIS. We do not accept students living alone under any circumstances. 　　6. Enrolment Fee

　　Pay the non-returnable enrolment fee of RMB 800.

　　7. The completed application form and all supporting documents will then be submitted to our Director. We will inform you of his decision and if appropriate make the final arrangements for enrollment of your child here at NIS.

　　8. Electronic Signature

　　We are always happy to have new families applying to NIS. The signature at the end of this online application indicates that you will comply with all the agreements outlined above. Please tick this final box to confirm.
